Under Jon’s skilful and visionary leadership, Michelson Diagnostics Ltd has rapidly grown from a fledgling ‘start-up’ in 2006, to the thriving company it is today. Gordon has ten years’ experience in the field of biomedical optics, including a PhD in the interaction of laser light with tissue under Prof. Bryanston-Cross. He has established an extensive network of senior clinical and health sector contacts, and is an expert at working in the interface between clinicians and technologists. Martin is very experienced project manager, with a CV that includes several large product developments at previous employers Image Automation Ltd and GEC. His planning skills and attention to quality have already been demonstrated through the successful development, CE mark and FDA 510(k) clearance of the VivoSight OCT topical product, and through the company obtaining its ISO13485 certificate.

John Knowles is an ex-Chairman of Davin Optronics, the Watford-based optics manufacturer. He is a respected entrepreneur/investor with a track record in raising investment for high-tech start-ups, and is Chairman of Stratophase Ltd and Nanosight Ltd. When Chairman of Davin, he arranged all financial and legal aspects of a management buy-out and later VC funding. He has also been responsible for several financing rounds at Stratophase and NanoSight.

Simon comes from a Cambridge Physics background, and has more than 25 years experience designing systems and embedded software for advanced instruments. He has a detailed understanding of control systems, signal and image processing algorithms. Bill has skills and background concerning the design of practical instruments that perform reliably and consistently. Based on more than 25 years’ experience, he has in-depth knowledge of how to engineer and mount optics in robust yet compact designs. David has extensive experience in both technical and commercial roles. He has been involved in OCT for more than six years, previously at Santec Corporation where he was Managing Director of their European subsidiary. David received his doctorate in Engineering and Material Science from Oxford University, subsequently spending eight years in Japan working at Sharp Corporation’s research laboratories developing new technologies for optical devices.

Dan previously worked in the University of Leiden Medical Center where he designed speckle flowmetry technologies for obstetric surgeries. He has eight years experience in the field of OCT, and received his PhD from the Biomedical Optics group at the University of Kent at Canterbury. The optical processing techniques he designed there are still generating new publications to this day.
